Received mine on Aug 3, 2007 from another retailer (the most recognized office supply store; has an NBA basketball arena named after it in California). Anyway, mine came with a Seagate Barracuda ST3500630A hard drive. I don't even know who I/O Magic is. Mine came with a $30 rebate so it was about $100 AR. Already formatted (FAT32). Plugged it in and worked immediately. Not loud. The stand is a bit flimsy but manageable.

hard drive OK, but enclosure failed
looks like there was something wrong with USB part of the device, b/c hard drive started, but my computer didn't recognize the device; I took out the hard drive, put into my own enclosure and it works fine.
