This Kenwood car stereo is absolutely one of the worst purchases I have ever made in my life. In every possible way it is the completely opposite of user friendly. The detachable face plate is so hard to re-attach that it takes my husband 10 minutes - including multiple consultations with the dumb owner's manual - to re-attach it. And this is after having done it every day for a month! It's not worth the hassle to me; when I drive that vehicle I just drive in silence.

The CD player can only be used by detaching the face plate, inserting a CD, then re-attaching the face plate. And as we know that is a nearly impossible task, so we have never used the CD player. I can only imagine what it is like to change CDs while driving.

Finding radio stations nearly as easy to do. My father in law and I spent 20 minutes one day trying to figure out how to scan for stations, and we finally gave up and turned the dumb stereo off.

Oh, one interesting feature - neato graphics of palms trees and swimming dolphins and fishies! It is oh-so-practical because then you can look at the radio while you are driving instead of the road. Maye if the design team had spent a little more time working on the faceplate and a little less time screwing around with the graphics they could have redeemed this worthless product.

If you buy it - good luck. I recommend contacting a good therapist first.

This is a fantastic sounding stereo, one of the best I have heard for its price range. It has fantastic graphics while setting your sound settings and is very simple once you read how to do it. This also allows you to make sound adjustments just as a graphic EQ would with great effects.

It really is not that hard to attach and re-attach the face! yes it was tricky at first, but actually once figured out it is as easy the rest of them. To play a CD, you DO NOT ~ I repeat, DO NOT have to fully detach the face, you just hit the button, the face drops open like a glove box door, you slip in the CD and close the face, it is that simple. You do NOT take the face off to play a CD... It takes all of a few seconds to put a CD in. No it is not the easiest user friendly at first, many detached faces are not, but by far this is not nearly as tough as this other review states... I can do it blind folded and I have had it 4 hours...
