Lousy sound. I'm not an audiophile, but I know lousy sound when I hear it. When I decided to buy it, I think I confused it with another iRhythm speaker model which got decent reviews. This one barely has better sound than my laptop's speakers. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't even take these for free.

The sound quality, both treble and bass, are quite good for this size of system; I've played everything from folk to acoustic only to rap and it all sounds decent. The volume extension is impressive: turn up computer/ipod volume, then turn up speaker volume, and you're hearing music down the hall and into the back bedroom.

I bought this to take camping along with the ipod/laptop.

Agreed that battery life is impressive; using regular 4x AA Kirkland batteries and so far have gotten at least 48 non continuous hours out of it.

It's not an aesthetically pleasing system; it has a early-90's cheap plastic look to it--the dials and the white color do it, I think. Not sure why it comes in white--I thought white plastics went out of style years ago!

Great sound and sturdy, but it is a little larger than I thought it would be and the carrying pouch is only large enough for the speaker, not cables. I was looking for speakers for my iPod for the office and to take to quilting classes. This will work for quilting classes, but not for the office. I run my iPod all day and, because this speaker doesn't include a charger, the iPod runs out of power halfway through the day. I ended up buying a charging speaker system for work.

Pretty much as advertised. Plug one end to the ipod and the other to the wall. I like the battery/AC option, few decent priced ones offer that. Good for one room, deck, etc. obviously not for a huge party. Easy to set up, compact, above average sound, but could be a little louder. Probabaly don't want to use it for lotsa bass like rap, but wouldn't know.

replaced an old radio shack set that I really liked with large speakers so I wasn't too hopeful for good sound in this small unit--sound and bass are quite good for such a small unit. Have used the same set of batteries off and on for quite some time and they still work. And it has its own volume control.
