Always loved a clothes line
This is my second Whitney outside clothesline. The first one suffered a terrible demise when we having some outside construction done and a track hoe backed over it. On hot summer days even heavy work jeans will dry on the line in about half an hour, which would take 70 minutes in our electric dryer. Cotton shirts, towels and sheets take about 20 minutes, and nothing smells better on a bed than line dried sheets. Line dried towels are stiffer but as soon as some moisture hits them, they soften right up. Cotten is cooler and more absorbent if you don't use fabric softener on them. Since fabric softener residue builds up on an inside dryers lint screen, it's both a fire hazard and shortens the life of your dryer, I try to stay away from it. A big plus now is that you use less electricity both for drying clothes and your a/c doesn't have to work as hard keeping the room temperature down because the dryer heated it up. This clothesline spins freely, so you can pretty much stand in one place to hang clothes, rather than lug around a heavy basket of wet laundry. Big items like sheets are doubled to hang, it's very simple to fold them when you take them off the line. The line dryer is collapsible, you can just fold it up and put it in the garage if you are having an outside party. It's just great, I wouldn't be without one.
